ASHP’s Handbook on Injectable Drugs
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the 18th edition of ASHP’s Handbook on Injectable Drugs™ in October 2014. With this edition,they are seeking your assistance in noting an important change.
Anywhere you previously referred to “Trissel” in your materials, ASHP ask that you substitute the “American Society of Health-System Pharmacists” or “ASHP”.
ASHP published the first edition of the Handbook™ in 1977, and has continued to apply its high standards of authoritative drug information publishing, resulting in its recognition as the “Gold Standard” since the work was first introduced. The 17th edition of ASHP’s Handbook on Injectable Drugs™ was the last one issued by ASHP with Lawrence A. Trissel, who has retired. ASHP has assumed sole authorship of the Handbook on Injectable Drugs™ with the 18th edition and all companion digital formats.
With the 18th edition of ASHP’s Handbook on Injectable Drugs™, they can and will no longer refer to this authoritative reference of pharmaceutics research on parenteral drug products using Trissel’s™ name, since that name is a trademark held solely by Lawrence A. Trissel. As a result, and prior to October 2014, it will be necessary to remove any reference to Trissel in any descriptive or promotional materials you have about ASHP’s Handbook on Injectable Drugs™.
